I kind of want to start pinning the tag directly, or at least make it so you can do either a tag or a commit. But we can worry about that later. I bumped the API package version to 0.5.0 for now, which is is more or less how the other clients do it. I don't feel very settled about our versioning scheme, but that's #245.
