Overview

A unique lighting mod with physically-accurate bloom, perfect exposure through simulated light metering, more color fidelity and range, revised lens flare, true film-emulating film grain, stylized sky, and more!

NEON GENESIS is a spiritual successor to the V3 and vanillaBean mods focusing on general stylistic modification while still inkeeping with vanilla clarity and extending the all-new anamorphic lens emulation introduced with update 2.0.

• New and physically-accurate bloom system.
• Light meter–emulating adaptation.
• Extended color range, hue shifts, and subtractive saturation. Also applies to Dogtown.
  Generally preserves vanilla's art style while enhancing other aspects.
• Atmospheric fog system and reworked distant irradiance/lights.
• Enhanced cloud system, using sosuine's excellent Alternative Weather Visuals as a base.
• Accurate—but stylized—sky color.
  Deep, blue dawn and dusk, along with natural early morning, sunrise, and sunset.
• Extended chromatic aberration that's congruent with 2x anamorphic stretch.
• Better, more coarse and less noise-like film grain, simulating Kodak VISION3 250D motion picture film stock's grain response.
• Overhauled raster global illumination and ambient occlusion system with more saturated/punchy light bounces and more significance for local lights.
• Realistic flare and vignette systems that are both significantly toned down to finalize anamorphic lens emulation.
