Mew is an AI agent harness for migrating and reconstructing software. It reproduces an existing system, observes what users and dependent systems can see, turns those findings into an evidence-linked contract, and builds the replacement against that contract.
Typical goals:
- move a measured Python bottleneck to Rust without changing API or numerical behavior;
- rebuild an authorized application with a new design while preserving selected journeys;
- run long migrations with durable state, checkpoints, approvals, and resumable verification.
For visual systems, Mew combines browser evidence with optional multimodal analysis. Vision can interpret screenshots, but it does not replace deterministic checks or human-approved intent.

Mew owns the durable run, policy, workspaces, evidence, checkpoints, and verification. Models and skills handle ambiguous reasoning; proven workflows can move into the Rust runtime.
Mew currently has a working Rust engine, server, Ratatui client, tool and skill loop, persistent conversations, tracing, and a Go MCP adapter. Durable migration runs, sandboxes, behavioral contracts, differential verification, browser, and computer-use support are on the roadmap.
Mew is experimental. Keep a human in the loop for production and irreversible actions.
