Grid

Grid is the Kubernetes control plane for multi-site AI routing with Praxis as the request data plane.

What Grid does

  • Reconciles GridNetwork, GridSite, InferenceProvider, AgentToolProvider, and AgentToAgentProvider resources.
  • Discovers sites with SWIM and propagates provider state with CRDTs.
  • Advertises provider-gateway endpoints and manages trust metadata for authenticated, encrypted communication between sites.
  • Health-checks providers and excludes stale or unavailable candidates.
  • Scrapes configured provider metrics and deterministically scores candidates using locality, rank, health, capacity, and latency signals.
  • Renders Praxis routing overlay ConfigMaps and retains the last-known-good state when a replacement cannot be safely applied.
  • Projects provider credential references into overlays without placing token values in Grid routing data.
  • Reports site, provider, reconciliation, and overlay revision status through Kubernetes status and Prometheus metrics.

What Grid does not do

Grid does not proxy model traffic, translate provider APIs, or run Praxis HTTP filters. The Praxis gateway stack handles TLS, proxying, and backend I/O; Praxis AI supplies the AI-specific routing and credential filters.

Install

helm install grid-operator \
  oci://ghcr.io/praxis-proxy/charts/grid-operator \
  --version <version> \
  --namespace grid-system \
  --create-namespace

See the chart documentation for values, RBAC namespace configuration, CRD upgrade procedures, and SWIM Service exposure. Install a compatible Praxis gateway separately.

For Kustomize or raw manifests, see deploy/.

Getting started

Explore the deployable demonstrations for automated runtime proofs of routing, security boundaries, provider lifecycle, convergence, and recovery. Use the deployment topology guide to choose the model that fits your environment.

For deploying Grid onto existing clusters with Helm, see examples/helm/existing-clusters/.

These immutable validation images form one compatible demo set. The Praxis AI image rolls up the open intelligent-routing PR stack for review. The detailed demo guide documents prerequisites, full validation mode, evidence, and troubleshooting.

The development guide documents focused test and validation commands for contributors.
