@bdrung Starting with version 2.10.0, kbd already supports generating keymaps from xkb. The basic idea was actually taken from console-setup, but it was integrated into loadkeys for on-the-fly conversion. What you want to do is easier to implement with a shell script. |

We are carrying this patch in Ubuntu since kbd 1.12-19ubuntu2 in 2008. This change is useful on Debian-based systems. Let me know what you think about this patch. Are you okay with supporting ckbcomp or should the support be put behind a configure option?
