MineCave v2.0 (2026 update)

by Elmar Wenners / chaozz.nl / github.com/chaozznl

gameplay screenshot

In Minecave you are trying to find the most valuable ore; the red diamond. To reach it you need to mine other ores and sell them at the store to upgrade your tool. Each tool upgrade gives you access to a lower ground level.

Gameplay

MineCave runs entirely in text mode and takes place in a single vertical mine shaft.

In the game:

  • You dig downward and collect various types of ore.
  • You sell the ore in the shop to earn money.
  • You use that money to upgrade your tools, allowing you to reach deeper levels.
  • You must keep an eye on your health and oxygen; without them, you won't survive.

At the bottom of the mine lies a large red diamond. Reach it, and you win the game.

Joystick Controls

  • Move left, right, up or down to walk or dig. If a block is in your way and your pickaxe is strong enough, the block will be removed automatically.
  • Press the fire button to place a ladder.

Survival

Stay underground too long and you will suffocate, so you must occasionally return to the surface for fresh air. Keep an eye on the oxygen meter.

You lose health when:

  • You stay underground without fresh air for too long.
  • You fall from too great a height.

Technical Details
