Datathon: a data archiving for equitability in microbial ecology

A Datathon is an event focused on the collection and archiving of 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing.
For more information visit: https://micoda.idiv.de/v2/datathons

Its purpose is:

  1. Facilitating the proper deposition and archiving of 16S rRNA gene amplicon data and metadata in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI)'s Sequence Read Archives (SRA)
  2. The generation of local microbiome databases for local and global reuse

To facilitate the sharing of data we have created two tutorials:

About

Submitting data to NCBI can be challenging, as instructions are scattered across multiple guides. This tutorial, developed during the Datathon Events https://micoda.idiv.de/v2/datathons, compiles key information and provides a step-by-step guide for depositing 16S rRNA sequences and other genetic data.
