Systems & Network Engineer (VoIP / Intercom) · Smart Home Platform Developer · Homelab Operator
Building Fiducerion — a self-developed, fully self-hosted smart home platform.
Fiducerion is my own smart home platform — designed, written and operated end to end. No cloud dependency, no black boxes, no vendor lock-in.
| 🖥 Interface | LCARS-inspired single-page application, 100 % native JavaScript & CSS — no framework, no build step |
| 🔌 Device layer | Custom-built fid-* integration modules for lighting, climate, energy, media, vehicles and sensors |
| 📡 Protocols | MQTT · Zigbee · HTTP/REST · WebSocket · BLE · vendor APIs |
| 📊 Dashboards | Room views, camera wall with live-stream-aware refresh, energy & load monitoring, UPS telemetry, motorsport data |
| 🔔 Operations | Health checks, heartbeat reporting, alert routing and messenger notifications built in |
| 🏠 Runtime | Runs entirely on my own hardware — virtualised, backed up, monitored |
Design philosophy: readable code over magic, explicit state models over hidden logic, local execution over cloud services, and incremental changes over big-bang rewrites.
