Super Trend – Business Process Management (BPM)

Business Process Optimization project developed for the Business Process Management course at NOVA IMS (2023).

🎯 Objective

Model, analyze, simulate, and optimize the Order-to-Delivery process for Super Trend, a European online fashion retailer.
The goal was to improve operational efficiency, reduce delays, and increase Return on Investment (ROI).

🧩 Tools & Methods

  • Bizagi Modeler for AS-IS and TO-BE process modeling
  • BPM Lifecycle: Identification → Discovery → Analysis → Redesign
  • Quantitative Simulation (Poisson & Truncated Normal distributions)
  • What-if Scenarios for resource allocation and workflow redesign
  • Zoho One Integration for automation, invoicing, and real-time inventory

🧠 Process Overview

  • AS-IS model highlighted inefficiencies in order handling, resource allocation, and manual tasks.
  • TO-BE model introduced:
    • Full automation through Zoho One
    • Digital invoicing and inventory tracking
    • Optimized staff and courier allocation (manager automation, 6 couriers, 3 packagers)
    • Reduced average process time from 2h10m → 53 minutes
    • Achieved ROI of 4.65% in two years

📊 Simulation Dataset

A synthetic dataset (bpm_simulation_sample.csv) is provided in data/raw/ for reproducibility.
It mimics simulation results (e.g., order times, waiting periods, resource utilization) used in Bizagi’s quantitative analysis.

Synthetic data ensures reproducibility without sharing proprietary course data.
