Media Systems & Software Engineer — Python, semantic metadata, cloud, applied AI

I have worked on Globo's media archive from both ends of it. In 2013 I started as a media asset technician — ingesting, copying and quality-checking broadcast material by hand, then running master control playback and transmission links for Carnaval, the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2019 Copa América. Today I help build the system that does the cataloguing automatically.
I came back to Globo in 2024, now as a Media Systems & Software Engineer, working on Cognitive Asset Management (CAM) — the step beyond traditional MAM, where assets are classified semantically instead of by hand-typed fields. My work there covers three things:
- Custom data ontologies. I map requirements with business stakeholders and extend Globo's domain ontology, which drives AI inferencing, search accuracy and automated metadata enrichment across the content archives.
- Secure integration middleware. I design backend APIs that act as an abstraction layer between internal microservices and third-party CAM vendor platforms, protecting proprietary systems and access controls.
- Ingestion pipelines. Python and GCP Cloud Storage routines that automate video processing and metadata tagging.
Before that I spent nearly two years as a full-stack .NET / Vue.js engineer at BRCondos, where I was promoted from junior to mid-level in three months, led a Knockout.js → Vue.js migration, and built asynchronous C# routines and EFD-Reinf/SPED fiscal integrations. I also run Dark Orchid Games, an indie studio where I own the whole cloud footprint: a containerized Django backend on Cloud Run, GCP object storage for builds and assets, DNS, TLS and identity.
I care most about the point where media infrastructure, semantic data and applied AI meet. I'm currently open to international opportunities — as a Python / backend engineer, or in media systems and knowledge-graph work.
