[Proposal] Cache refactor

Summary

I think the preCache is not needed and the AYON and pre cache can be merged into one. It would be more clear and it won't loose anything.

Holding off on this because @antirotor is also doing lots of cache ideas and changes. So this might be nice to look at later.
