How to customize notifications per-contact?

I only just noticed that the current version of Snikket (2.13.5) advertises that it's possible to customize notifications per-contact and per-conversation. I was delighted to read this, as I use this feature heavily in other messaging apps!

However, I cannot work out how to do it in Snikket! I have explored the options thoroughly, but the only way I can find from within a conversation or contact to change the notification sound is to go to the Settings menu, and changing the sound there changes it for all conversations/contacts.

I installed Conversations, and was able to find the menu item "Custom notifications" in the three-dot menu under Contact details. However, this item does not appear in Snikket.

The Conversations maintainer was kind enough to point out that it's also possible to customize notifications by long-pressing on a notification, so I'll see if that helps next time I get one.
