We would like to enable a more structured membership process through our own website in the future.
OSGeo Oceania is using the Google environment, Mailjet for emails and Slack for comms and approvals.
A lot of the data used in the membership database is via Google Query which is not too dissimilar to SQL. The key flag is an active flag.
Off-Boarding
The off-boarding process is through Google Queries and creating a deactivation log to process various off-boarding activities. The aim is to contact inactive members via other means and trying to keep them active before giving up and flagging the member account as inactive.
We were provided with following supporting documents.
Constitution
This is a generic cookie-cutter constitution for organisations like ourselves which has worked well although rarely referenced. There is very little discussed about elections, membership or voting that will be relevant however it is a foundation document.
Membership Policy
This is a purpose built document for OSGeo Oceania. Under Roles and Responsibilities we have the requirement to vote clause
