Hey everyone, I've tracked down the root cause of this parsing issue and successfully implemented a fix.

The issue stems from cloud-hosted or merged models (like gpt-oss) writing raw tool-call JSON blocks and the <|call|> special token directly into the text content stream instead of leveraging standard API arrays, leaving tool_calls empty.

I've resolved this by adding a localized before model validator to the Message class (src/ollama/_types.py). It catches the token, securely processes the regex/JSON extraction into the proper structural tool-call dictionary formats, and updates the visible text payload. I've also written a dedicated unit test suite matching this payload footprint, and it passes cleanly.
