[REWRITE] - Ideas List

This is just a general list/thread of items that can be addressed when TSH goes through it's rewrite to being a more web based app.

MAIN UI:

• Add color choices for certain UI functions that can be customized per person (would allow for custom UI colors rather than just predefined themes)
• Add deep linking options to open certain menus in TSH for guide purposes (would allow for more intuitive guides for noobs)
• Maybe make tutorials built into the app itself (could allow it to be dynamic to pull from github/update when needed and just display in app)

THUMBNAIL GENERATOR:

• Make thumbnail generator allow gradient backgrounds over just static pictures (would make some users' lives easier)
• Maybe talk with Kekwel and see about integrating their web thumbnail generator in and just modify to use TSH info

WIDGETS:

• For widgets using players, make the base component collapsable (to hide info when not needed) that'll show the player name, and add list control options at the end of the player component to shift the players when clicked
• With player widgets, we should look to introduce the new style of auto-complete to be able to find a player based on player tag and/or even real name for quick look ups (currently a PR from pre-rewrite
• Integrate stream queue into next on stream widget for reorganizing stream queue order and maybe other pieces of info available
• Ad widget that we can make a layout using framer motion to display a time bar and then have it transition to the next ad, for like when having automated ads when the stream is waiting for next match (could also allow for text to be entered for it)
• Crew battle widget that can allow using markers to identify who has how many lives left (when playing), as well as keeping a total tally of lives left for a potential versus layout

GENERAL LAYOUT ITEMS:

• Include widget/settings menu for editing CSS variables for layouts such as main.css
• Add ability to execute "display" commands for overlays to trigger hide animations when wanting to show certain layouts only briefly (would allow for custom use in Stream Deck plugin, but would also be pretty much aimed at the potential for advanced React overlays that can be made with the rewrite)

Adding this here:

BRACKET IMPORT:

• Create a plugin system so people can add support for custom data providers
• Move import modules for Challonge and StartGG to separate plugins
• Create a plugin store with approved modules(?)
• Ship the program with the import modules for Challonge and StartGG by default

MORE UI STUFF:

• Make sure the UI is accessible manually through a web browser, either on localhost or via the local network
• Ensure the UI is not too resource intensive
• Ensure the UI works on desktop and mobile
• Ensure the UI works the same on all 3 major browser engines (Chromium, Firefox, Webkit/Safari)

MORE LAYOUTS STUFF:

• Separate layouts into their own repo
• Rework the layout/scoreboard and layout/scoreboard_4by3 layouts so that the CSS code with element positions is moved to each game's own asset pack (Note: Will probably require making the FGC Slim version the default, as this should be the one which works with most games)

LOCAL DATA:

• Store local data for players in an SQL relational database file instead of a CSV file. The full data structure is TBD.

LOCALISATIONS:

• Make sure UI teyt is using proper localisation keys
• Do not put whole English sentences and UI text in the code itself

BUILDS:

• Do not store builds directly on the Github repo
• Automatically build Windows executables when tagging
• Automatically build Linux AppImage when tagging
• Publish app to Flatpak when tagging
• Publish app to an APT repo when tagging
• Automatically build MacOS executable when tagging (Optional)

VARIOUS:

• Unify the way the Thumbnail Generator and Top 8 / Top n layouts work
• Allow user to generate the Top 8 / Top n graphic from the app itself and save it as an image
  • Note: Study the possibility of adding Alt Text as medadata for an image, using a library such as IPTCInfo3

LICENCE:

• File the new code under a GPL3 or similar licence
• Add the licences from all used libraries in the program credits
