How to run a development version of keystatic? (sh: next: command not found)

I am trying to get keystatic running to see if I could contribute a feature.

However, I am stuck…

The installation seems to work fine

At least after getting #1284 going.

 ELIFECYCLE  Command failed.

The docs hint at possible issues related to corepack https://github.com/Thinkmill/keystatic/blob/main/README.md?plain=1#L70-L72 But I don't see how that might be related or how to check if it is.

I now wonder if I need to run this app https://github.com/Thinkmill/keystatic/blob/main/dev-projects/next-app/README.md
I get this one running by building pnpm build:packages in root and then pnpm run dev in the dev-projects/next-app.
I then see the Keystatic Auth Screen to Create a Github App. Adding a new app fails with an error message about "non-Node.js environment", so I guess on needs the Thinkmill app key that are hinted at in the readme to use this … which are non-public I guess.
I did manage to start the app by changing the Keystatic config to kind: 'local'. Now I can see the Dashboard.
However, every Collection or Singleton I use results in an infinite spinner and the console error

It looks like this is a dead end as well.
