Dear Noamaan,
PeriLab does allow plane stress, plane strain and 3D formulations. No PD shell approach is implemented yet. If you need such feature, please address it as a feature request. It will take some time, but from the software architecture point of view it should be possible.

Hello Mr. Willberg and Mr. Hesse,
I wanted to ask and also confirm whether Shell elements (S4/R or S8/R) are supported in PeriLab, as I have modeled CFRP specimen using shell element?

You can use interface damage models. In that case bonds which run from one block the another can be defined with a different damage value. Its called interblock damage
An example can be found here.

This example is a multilayer laminate.

Thank you Mr. Willberg for your answer.
I see that reduced integration is also not supported for the elements. For modeling the interface layer in Abaqus, I would be using cohesive elements with traction separation law but as cohesive elements are also not supported in PeriLab, could you suggest me which other possibility I have for modeling debonding between two different materials with different element type?

Hello, you can define pre crack via the bond filter. You can define planes, which does not allow bonds running through them. |
