HaloVR opening windowed, cannot play - Meta Quest 3

There seems to be an issue with HaloVR currently on Meta Quest 3

It seems like Steam VR is not detecting the game. I opened up Virtual Desktop, started SteamVR, and ran HaloVR, I went back to Virtual Desktop to click into it and went back into Steam VR to play the game VR, the run VR option took me to the SteamVR home and all I can do was make a window for haloVR, but that's it. It cannot be played, there is no text, it is only a windowed application.

Happened to me at first. Making sure Halo is the active window might fix it for you. What helped me was doing a clean reinstall into one of your backups. For whatever reason that got it to work.

I have a workaround for this issue -

After checking the logs, seems that we are seeing this issue when submitting textures to SteamVR:

[OpenVR] Could not submit right eye texture: 101

I recompiled HaloCEVR with some more verbose logging and it seems the culprit is this:

[OpenVR] Right eye submit result: 101 (DoNotHaveFocus)

I am too stupid to fix this properly but my guess is that SteamVR home is stealing focus from Halo.

The workaround:

Go to SteamVR settings -> General and set SteamVR Home to off, HaloCEVR should then launch perfectly :)
