Further improvement of the state machine viewer

Please describe the feature you would like to see implemented.

In my opinion the plugin has more potential in case of the state machine viewer.

Maybe we can improve the view of the state machine to more interactivity than only a plain view? I think in general this fits better to the new design concept, what do you think?

The general questions is: Is this feature wanted / used so that an implementation makes sense?
And what is needed, what not?

Maybe we could incorporate my idea of hiding the nodes here.

Just add a checkbox to the left of the states—checked by default—and if one is unchecked, the corresponding state is removed from the diagram

That would reduce the complexity and confusion associated with very large graphs, in addition to the 1-hop solution.
