            As organiser of a recurring private gathering, Weyland carries a
            <strong>legal duty of care</strong> toward all attendees under
            Belgian law — even in a private, invite-only, non-commercial
            context.
          </p>
          <p>
            <strong>Civil liability (art. 5.145 Belgian Civil Code):</strong>
            Weyland can be held liable for foreseeable harm if no reasonable
            safety measures were taken. The rules on this page are those
            measures.
          </p>
          <p>
            <strong>Involuntary harm (art. 418–420 Belgian Penal Code):</strong>
            Criminal liability for harm caused through negligence or lack of
            care. If a risk was foreseeable and ignored, this can apply even
            without direct involvement in the incident.
          </p>
          <p>
            <strong>Non-assistance (art. 422bis Belgian Penal Code):</strong>
            Failing to assist a person in danger, or failing to alert emergency
            services when able, is a criminal offence.
          </p>
